Another Craig’s List Giggle

Craig’s List. You are so useful sometimes, and other times, a collection of the least employable monkeys able to use the internet. Here’s an email a CL user sent me today:

Hello,

I’m responding to your Craigslist ad for a fashion blogger.  I provided blog services services for web developers and business owners via wordpress. In addition to writing, I also have a background in fashion.  I can provide you with quality writing enhance your website.

Here is a link to view my resume

(I took the link off, because even when I’m complaining about someone’s stupidity, I’m not totally heartless.)

Here’s what’s wrong with this email. Let’s start with the very first line. If you are advertising your services as a blogger, you are saying that you can create attractive text. Yet this person uses 2 different fonts in the email, which is unattractive and a sure sign of copy&paste, without even a little proofreading. Ick. Speaking of copy-paste and no proofing, did you catch where the person wrote “blog services services”? If I were hiring a blogger, I wouldn’t want one with obvious signs of copy-paste and no proofreading.

The part that makes this most hilarious is that my ad wasn’t looking for fashion content writing, so this would-be blogger didn’t fully read my ad before copy-pasting a response.

Oh, Craig’s List.
